...traditional pieces and compositions written for this second solo album alternating,
inspired during the Zingaro (equestrian) theater tour in Avenches in Switzerland in June 2018 :
bucolic atmosphere on the huge land of the national hara, inhabited by cranes and songs of birds...
. TRADITIONAL HONKYOKU
Heart-Moon, SHINGETSU / Breaking Waves, DAHA
Yearning for the Bell, REIBO / Ceremony, KUYÔ no KYOKU
Flute in the Ocean Mist, MUKAIJI
belong to the honkyoku repertoire (original pieces) coming from the Zen spiritual tradition, linked to the long history of this bamboo flute of Japan, originally played by the itinerant monks komusô. A practice of long breath, unrolling melodies note after note, a search for the single sound of each moment, the development of mechanical vibratos adapted to a meditative spirit.
. COMPOSITIONS, Véronique PIRON
INCANTATION / SUSPENDED FLOW
MESSAGER-FLIGHT / MIGRATION
built on a minimalist tactile playing technic, like a learner discovering the five holes of the flute, simply opened or closed; a getaway out of the usual habits of this instrument, which apart from the pentatonic scale inherent to its making, gave birth to original melodies based on some reinvented fingerings.

REVIEWS (in Fr.)
